So I thought that we should look at the future for this concept and what it might entail.
I have discussed a few things with Jason and I thought it would be prudent to discuss it with you.
First of all...thank you for your passion and enthusiasm for this project.
It is greatly appreciated and I dont think that you know the effect that you will have on the South African anime and manga lifestyle scene.
General:
The 1st issue will be launched this month, prospective date is the 25th but it has not been confirmed yet.
Jason is in bed at the moment but being the trooper that he is, he is storming ahead answering my 100's of questions.
Once the 1st issue is published, and we have received sufficient positive feedback from the communities, we will assess the situation and make a decision on a 2nd issue.
Once we have confirmed that a 2nd Issue and a prospective launch date is confirmed, we will then approach all the contributors from the 1st Issue for assignments.
Once you have confirmed that you will be writing for the 2nd Issue, you will be confirmed as "Staff Writers".
The Staff Writers will be required to guarantee delivery of all assignments as the main articles will be writen by the Staff Writers.
There are no limits to the number of Staff Writers.
The more Staff Writers we have the more articles we have the better we can reach the anime and manga communities in South Africa.
The Staff Writers will be given special permissions on digitalnatives.co.za to access special boards to submit and discuss articles.
This way we can ensure that the information stays secret until launch date.
Funds:
We have been approached by members in the anime and manga communities regarding in regards to donations.
We have not accepted any donations as we have not even delivered a 1st Issue.
Once the 1st issue is launched and we have confirmed a 2nd Issue will we approach the members with confirmation that we will accept donations.
The main use of the donations will be for the website hosting and upkeep and promotions that will take place to attract readers.
The donations and use of said donations will be communicated clearly and openly with all Staff Writers.
All financial details will be handled by Jason.
Advertisers have been given the opportunity to advertise free of charge in the 1st Issue.
At this stage we are not certain how we will approach advsertisers for future issues and whether we will even charge for advertising.
Concept:
There has been a slight but significant change to the "concept" of Anime-Ima!
I don't want to say too much but the change will be evident and the effect it will have on the anime & manga lifestyle in South Arican will be significant.
You will understand the change and the reason for the change in the Introduction Letter.
Contributions:
The constributions that you have submitted have remained original.
They have not been edited in any way afaik, Jason will be able to advise on this in more detail.
Anime-Ima! is community driven. This means that we are for the community by the community.
Anime-Ima! is article driven. This means that the magazine will consist of articles (incl. reviews, blogs etc.) written by the community for the community.
Format:
The current format of the magazine is electronic i.e. PDF.
Digital Natives will host the main link for it and it will be notified throughout the social networks at our disposal. This includes a number of forums, sites, facebook etc.
The future formats have not been decided yet.
We have been discussing the possibility of publishing it in hard copy format but also looking at an electronic format kindle and other e-readers.
Cost:
Anime-Ima! will remain free of charge until further notice.
Well...that wraps it up for now.
Any feedback is welcome and feel free to contact mysel for Jason.
