I was thinking of something which can be added in the next issue, and that would be a "Anime-Ima: To watch" section.

This is separate from reviewing. The basis is ,on a new separate thread, you'd recommend two anime (series or movie); one which you have watched and would recommend to someone else to watch another being an anime which you've been meaning to watch. After everyone has listed, a list of anime's are put together and we vote for one to be nominated the anime to watch for the issue, with just a brief description.

Voting can be probably be done by PM for now (to avoid anyone finding out the results before the issue release), since they are digital natives community isn't that large it can't be done by counting. I think there was some app/website which can be used for voting (can't recall), so that can be used in future.

It would be great if it wasn't just one recommendation for a anime to watch but also a live action movie, and as well if what is recommended is something you've asked someone if they have watched and they say no  :o.

Example entry:
Anime
Recommended: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Want to watch: Howl's Moving Castle

Live action
Recommended: Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Want to watch: The Killer (John Woo film)

I guess the 'want to watch' can be something which is about to get released. This could also give someone something to review if they haven't figured what to review for the following issue.

Good idea, I like it.

We should put both in the mag though. One we've watched and one we're looking forward to.

*extreme silence...* Am I missing something? Why hasn't anybody been here since July? Anime-ima isn't dead right? Well, hope not, thought of something for anime-ima if you're interested. It needs a blog or website, dedicated to the mag. A blog would probably suffice, since it's free, not a lot of effort, and if the e-mag does die, easy to delete.

Because right now, everyone that's interested in the e-mag, has to read through the forum to try and see where to download and why there isn't an issue 2 etc... If there was a blog though, they could quickly find the answers from the home page. Like, what the latest developments are and where to download the next issue. From the blog there could also be easy to find links to the facebook page, Twitter etc etc.... All that + the mag = readers happy.

Well, hope there is life here soon. tsk tsk tsk

Hi Oops!Insurance

I don't know if Jay has informed anyone yet, but lets just put things down into perspective here:

I need someone to take this magazine and run with it. I haven't got the time to spare to deal with it right now. In case you are not aware, two things happened 1) I changed career, I am currently busy learning desktop software development so my days are pretty full, and 2) I am leaving South Africa next year for New Zealand, permanently. I needed the career change to make sure I can be upskilled enough to ensure I earn a sustainable living in New Zealand. I am also working from home as a consultant, so henceforth my weekends and evenings are also occupied with that work.

I am sorry but I am working 12-13 hours a day, and while I love anime and I wish I could do more for this magazine, its not humanly possible right now.

That's too bad to hear Jason. Good luck with all your work and new zealand.

Well, ok, if anyone does decide they need help. pm me or something. Keep an eye out for the latest AEX Sam newsletter (edition 3) to see what I did with the layout. It will probably only release around 10 September though. If anyone's interested.

chow.

I am about to appoint someone to take over this magazine, so hopefully between the talented people on this forum, we'll see issue #2 materialise sooner rather than later
