Good Day all

I have gotten on board the Vodacom Class Action lawsuit, that has been initiated by David Pearl.

This is the thread for all interested parties to get updates as I will post them regularly

Update: 03-May-2010

I submitted a full report of my experiences with Vodacom last year, to the attorneys via David.

Will check for regular updates.

Yesterday 05-05-2010

Vodacom hurriedly sent someone out here to do signal tests for a second time! The technician has no knowledge of this case, except she was instructed to get out here urgently yesterday  ::)
Looks like this is starting to have the desired effect, or this is just coincidence?

Update: 11-05-2010

Received a phone call from the CEO's office regarding my network issues. Apparently I've been blogged about on twitter :o without my knowledge. I don't mind the publicity but getting to the point, they struggled to get hold of me, because their network is borked... so hopefully now they can see that there is an issue and WAKE UP and sort out their network.

Strangely: My Vodacom network issues at home *magically* vanished. My connection stays active for extended periods (hours) where usually 10 minutes of inactivity made my connection not receive anything while still being in a "connected" state.

Keep us updated Jason.

No idea, am actually going to find out, as it was news to me when yesterday Vodacom informed me about myself being discussed on twitter.com

I think they are sorting their network out as they are worried about this class action lawsuit. And about bloody time too

Sadly I have to report, that Vodacom's network is still the same old crap

Yesterday my wife tried to reach me in an emergency, every time I tried to answer her call, it was dropped.
When I tried to call her back, went to voicemail.
My wife assures me her cellphone had signal during all of this

This is what I have to deal with in a month:
Quote
04-05-2010
----------

08:29 - no signal for 1 minute
08:42 - no signal when attempted to SMS wife- SMS sits in outbox has to be sent manually!

05-05-2010
----------

07:54 - NO SIGNAL
10:00 - 10:25  NO SIGNAL
Rebooted phone at 10:26 to attempt to get signal. Signal obtained at 10:28 along with a torrent of messages...

14:45 - NO SIGNAL, SIGNAL RETURNED AT 14:46

06-05-2010
----------
10:17 - NO SIGNAL FOR 1 MINUTE
10:52 - SIGNAL LOST WHILE TRYING TO SEND SMS, RETURNED 5 MINS LATER

07-05-2010
----------

15:54 - NO SIGNAL, SMS messages difficult to send.

10-05-2010
----------
09:13 - NO SIGNAL. Unable to use cellular handset. SMS I tried to send, sat in outbox.
13:21 - NO SIGNAL
13:30 - no signal, disappeared while replying to SMS
13:32 - no signal, sms stuck in outbox, signal returns at 13:34

11-05-2010
----------
10:07 - no signal

12-05-2010
----------

11:34 - 11:35 no signal

21-05-2010
----------
12:36 - no signal
13:42 - no signal

I log when I can and have time to...

My parents stopped receiving SMS messages from New Zealand, could send fine.

Eventually I got them to power down and power up their phones, now suddenly it works again.
Vodacom STILL CANNOT ANSWER ME as to why we have to now regularly reboot the handset.

That is as clear a sign as any that the network is totally borked
