Company announces perks following outage   updated 06:20 pm EDT, Mon May 16, 2011

Sony has announced a new "customer appreciation program" that aims to pacify frustrated customers who have been affected by the ongoing PlayStation Network and Qriocity outages. Customers will be able to choose from two free PS3 games, including Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, or Wipeout HD + Fury. PSP owners will also be eligible to download two PSP games such as LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, or Killzone Liberation.

Aside from the free games, the company is planning to offer free movie rentals for certain titles over one weekend, though the specific list has yet to be determined. Users will also be able to take advantage of 100 free virtual items, including new games and additions to the Home Mansion personal space.

Customers who are not signed up for PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days of free service, while existing subscribers will get an additional 60 days at no charge. Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscribers will have free access to 30 days of the premium subscription. Similar promotions are planned for Music Unlimited Premium or Basic subscriptions.

Despite the promises of free products, the company has yet to disclose a date for relaunching the affected services, which have been down for three weeks. The PSN and Qriocity systems were temporarily pulled offline after hackers reportedly gained access to private information for over 100 million user accounts.

"customer appreciation program"

Hi Sony

How about the following 'customer appreciation program' ideas for future use.
Get rid of all the DRM you silently slip into your products you GREEDY A**HOLES!
Be conservative in what you send, be liberal in what you accept from others- Jon B Postel

Just got an email last night from SOE.
Turns out I get 45 free days of gaming on any of my SOE games (I only have 1 ;D).
Pretty cool, may persuade me back as I havent played for a couple of months.
