Plans for 2011

OK, so here we are, in 2011...

The stress of my job, and including that of having a child has taken its toll, so my digestive system is a total mess and requires surgery to fix.

Over December, family on my wife's side (more specifically her cousin) announced she's getting married. They saw some of the photography I shot on the fridge and walls and about three weeks later I was told I am being hired as the wedding photographer.

I think I take pretty average amateur pics, so, considering the amount I am getting paid for this little exercise it has dawned upon me that hell I would  have to do something about it, so I am seriously looking at doing part-time tuition to ensure I get up to speed to do a proper job.

In the process of finding a suitable college, I realized that, why the fuck must I continue to kill myself at my current job to pay the bills. Why not try and go pro, and earn a living off this kind of work, then supplement that with the other work I do, such as engineering. As it is being creative here is treated with indifference. When I got here instruction manuals and DTP was unheard of.

Do yourself a favor and start a photography blog, even if it's just to publish the photos from that shoot.
The couples and friends really appreciate it ++

Sure, that's a great idea

Could you offer some advice on how to get it set up, etc... I  have a whole web hosting package that is used for little more than e-mail and to host the pics I post on this forum.

Personally I would go with Something like a WordPress Blog. There's a lot of co's that let you do that for free. Remember this is not a one time shot. You can use it in future again. PM me if you are looking for some WP templates catered to photography

Thanks very much Epsilon

I have been up to this point, rather hesitant about Wordpress but I suppose the deluge of Wordpress websites I've seen are done by people who haven't got a clue on how to use it properly.

I will try and get it installed today...

I'd suggest going with www.blogspot.com (Google)
