Review - WYSIWYG Web Builder 8

I have been meaning to build a personal website for some time now, eventually late this year I got round to doing it. In the past my experience has been tainted by crappy tools and I am sorry, I could not be bothered to learn HTML and CSS because they never worked, unless you happen to make all your images fit the original template you got off the web; put a bigger (or smaller) image in and the thing breaks like a fine china saucer dropped to the floor. Microsoft Frontpage, which has to be the WORST EVER web site creation tool had put me off building websites for a good many years.

So therefore I knew I would need some sort of software tool, preferably of the WYSIWYG variety. I picked one at random, which happened to be WYSIWYG Web Builder, version 8, by Pablo Software Solutions. Installed it, tried it, LOVED IT, because it works, properly and the websites generated look good, and guess what, if you put that FUCKING IMAGE at location x = 323 and y = 451 it FUCKING SITS there, unlike with CSS and Frontpage, where the image moves, often crashes or overlaps text and looks generally kak in Firefox. Nor do you have to use tables because the HTML language is so brain-dead and sooo last decade, no, this program takes care of all that KAK for you.

This program is really good, and the sites look good on my cellphone, too!
Here's a screenshot of the program in action...

What's great about this program is the following real gem of a feature: it works like Corel Draw, it has pretty much the same feel, same way of working, and features i.e. the guidelines, to which objects snap, as well as the ability to lock said objects, that I use almost daily in Corel Draw. In fact, if you are a seasoned Corel Draw user, you will find using this program as easy as 1-2-3 and will be up and running in about 5 minutes. It works well, very well in fact that although I got the trial version I am sufficiently convinced to part with my hard-earned cash for a licensed version.

Pros:
- Corel Draw interface and features, makes for perfectly aligned and beautiful layouts
- Works properly, sites and pages look consistent
- Includes some kick-ass templates, one of which I used right off the bat
- Has some really nice and useful effects, does things I never dreamt possible with HTML
- Built in publishing engine takes the hassle out of FTP, and works properly, unlike FrontPage and others...

Cons:
- Internal JPEG compression engine suffers a bit from text aliasing, however if you have Photoshop you can work around this easily.

Overall Rating:  5/5
